2. Deus, refúgium nostrum et virtus:
O God, our refuge and our strength,

3. adésto piis Ecclésiæ tuæ précibus,
heed the devout prayers of Your Church,

4. auctor ipse pietátis, et præsta;
the very source of holiness, and grant

5. ut, quod fidéliter pétimus, efficáciter consequámur.
that what we seek in faith we may obtain in fact.

6. Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum:
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord,

7. qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti Deus,
Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God,
