Russians attempt to break Ukrainian defenses in Bakhmut

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on October 16 that Russian forces were continuing their offensive in the Bakhmut area and were firing at the positions of Ukrainian troops.

In the days prior, Radio Free Europe’s Maryan Kushnir spent time in the Bakhmut area with the Ukrainian forces there.

Video from October 7-13 shows dead bodies lying on the ground, which Ukrainian troops say are Chechens.
