Ignoring the Constitution to Protect Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity

It seems most Americans believe in rights and liberty, that is, until they don’t get their way. Have you ever considered what right you have to impose your will on others?

That is the issue in a complaint against Yeshiva University in New York City. Can the City and State of New York force this Jewish university to violate its core beliefs by officially recognizing and supporting a student group whose stated purpose is to change the religious nature of the university?

Can the City of New York force a private university to recognize a student group that is antithetical to its religious beliefs?

While I’ve already shown that the First Amendment claim is flawed, federal courts have frequently ignored the language of the Constitution in an attempt to protect religious freedom.

In this conflict between two sets of rights, who should win? The question comes down to who is attempting to impose their will upon the other.
