Deontay Wilder broke down in tears during his post-fight press conference after his first-round knock out of Robert Helenius in New York on Saturday.

The 36-year-old won emphatically in his first fight since getting stopped twice by Tyson Fury, the latter in the 11th round last October and believes he has the power dominate the sport.

Wilder and Helenius were friends and had previously been sparring partners but the nature of his victory appeared to affect the American was overcome with emotion as he discussed the dangers of boxing.

Wilder spoke movingly about Prichard Colon, who suffered a life-altering brain injury as a result of a fight in 2015 and is now cared for by his family.
