2 Kardeş Balon Balığı | Puffer Fish | Torquigener flavimaculosus | DIY Epoxy Resin

Balon balıklarının dünyadaki 191 türünden 8 tanesi 2018 yılına kadar ülkemiz sularında kaydedildi. Her birinin görünüşleri farklılık göstermekle birlikte, bazıları dokularında zehir içeriyor. Bu türlerden olan Lagocephalus sceleratus türü balon balığı, Doğu Akdeniz’deki ekolojik döngü içerisinde en fazla yere sahip on balık türünden biri olarak biliniyor.

Balon balıklarının ekonomik ve ekolojik zararlarının yanı sıra dokularında bulunan tetrodotoxin (TTX) adı verilen bir nörotoksin (sinir sistemine etki eden zehir) nedeniyle, tüketilmesi halinde insan sağlığını da tehdit ediyor. Bu toksinin siyanürden bin kat daha fazla zehirli olduğu biliniyor.

Akdeniz kıyılarında balıkçılarla yapılan çalışmalarda, balon balıklarının balıkçılık için en önemli tehditlerden biri olduğu gözlendi. Balıkçılar, balon balığının ağlardaki balıkları yiyerek ağ takımlarını da parçaladığını aktarıyor.

Etçil olan balon balığı, küçük boylarda iken ağırlıklı olarak kabuklularla, büyüdükçe de yumuşakçalarla besleniyor. Gökova Körfezi’nde ekonomik değeri en yüksek olan hedef türlerden karides ve ahtapottaki azalmanın, balon balığının Gökova Körfezi’nde çoğalmaya başladığı tarihlerle çakışması dikkat çekiyor.

Bu türün görülmeye başlamasıyla beraber yumuşakçaların (kalamar, ahtapot, mürekkep balığı) sayısının ciddi ölçüde azaldığı yönünde ortak görüşü de bulunuyor.

8 out of 191 species of puffer fish in the world were recorded in our country's waters until 2018. Although each has different appearances, some of them contain venom in their tissues. One of these species, the Lagocephalus sceleratus type puffer fish is known as one of the ten fish species that have the most place in the ecological cycle in the Eastern Mediterranean.

In addition to the economic and ecological damages of puffer fish, it also threatens human health if consumed due to a neurotoxin called tetrodotoxin (TTX) in its tissues (a poison affecting the nervous system). This toxin is known to be a thousand times more toxic than cyanide.

In studies conducted with fishermen on the Mediterranean coast, it was observed that puffer fish are one of the most important threats to fishing. Fishermen report that the puffer fish also destroyed the net suits by eating the fish in the nets.

The carnivorous puffer fish feeds mainly on crustaceans when they are small and molluscs as they grow. It is noteworthy that the decrease in shrimp and octopus, which are among the target species with the highest economic value in the Gulf of Gökova, coincides with the dates when the balloon fish started to proliferate in the Gulf of Gökova.

There is also a common view that the number of mollusks (squid, octopus, cuttlefish) has decreased significantly with the introduction of this species.
