Jakarta is changing for the better 🇮🇩

What looked like this just a few months ago, has now become the newest pedestrian area of Jakarta. Well, almost, it’s not quite finished yet. But once completed, the pedestrian zone that makes up parts of Jakarta’s old city or ‘Kota Tua’ will have extended to several times its original size!

The old city square in front of the colonial city house will then be linked with the newly formed station square by a pedestrian zone that only leaves one narrow lane of local traffic to allow for public transport to pass through.

It’s developments like these that will help locals get better quality of life, but it will also lead to more tourists visiting the capital of Indonesia, as it has a long way to go compared to Bangkok, which isn’t really pedestrian friendly, Kuala Lumpur with its expanding public transport and garden city Singapore.

If you like these shorts, I have a few of them for you already. I also have full length videos on my channel, so be sure to subscribe if you like travel related video’s!
