Russia has termed strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure for the second consecutive day as retribution for the Crimea bridge “attack”. Air raid sirens sounded in multiple regions, with officials appealing to residents to stay in shelters. The Ukrainian military's southern command said Russia fired 16 missiles at the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions in the first half of the day. Russian Embassy in France has said that Moscow's strikes were a “logical consequence” of recent events in the war. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said Russian strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure reflected a sign of weakness. Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the G7 leaders to create an airshield over Ukraine to defend against Russia. The G7 leaders also lashed out at Belarus President Lukashenko's plan to deploy joint forces as a new instance of complicity with Moscow. Belarus clarified that a contingent of its troops deploying alongside Russian forces was a "purely defensive" grouping. UK's intelligence chief Sir Jeremy Fleming has said Russia appears to be running out of weapons after its missile strikes on Ukraine. Moscow has said that it would not turn down a meeting between Putin and his US counterpart, Joe Biden, at the G20 next month. Meanwhile, Putin told IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi that Moscow is 'open to dialogue' on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. The UN General Assembly has rejected Moscow's call for a secret ballot vote of a resolution condemning Russia's annexation of Ukrainian regions.
