12th in our series the Prophet Zephaniah
I. The Judgment against Moab and Ammon - Zephaniah 2:8
* A. A history of hatred against God’s people by Moab & Ammon - Genesis 19:36-38
* 1. Moab attacks Israel - Joshua 24:9
* 2. Ammon wars against God’s people - Judges 3:12-13
* B. God hears the smear campaign against His own people
* 1. When we stand for what is just, right and true, the enemy of our souls will attack
* 2. When that happens you are counted among those greatly blessed - Matthew 5:10-12
* a. All manner of evil is spoken against you falsely
* b. You are in good company with the prophets of old and the Lord Jesus Himself
* c. Therefore we must never cower or fear the enemy, but taking the sword of the Lord proclaim God’s truth - Ephesians 6:17
* C. When they attack you, they are touching the apple of God’s eye - Zechariah 2:8 

II. Judgment Day will come for those who attack God’s people - Zephaniah 2:9-11
* A. God swears by His own character to avenge the wrongs done to His people
* 1. The sentence of Sodom and Gomorrah upon these proud evil doers, the Moabites and Ammonites
* 2. God’s people will plunder them and ultimately possess their territory - Isaiah 60:14
* 3. In the last battle the saints will likewise plunder the wicked - Zechariah 14:12-14
* B. God destroys the idolatry of the wicked so that peoples of every land will worship and serve Him - Revelation 5:9
