North Carolina Butt Blast 2018

For the past three years, a few Egghead forum members have organized a gathering where we meet up, cook, eat, and fellowship.

This year, was one of the best by far! Friday night started off right with Mike Hollis getting a whole hog on for an all night smoke on his Shirley cooker.

After getting the pig on, the shenanigans started. Some good eats were sure to follow with John making some awesome pizzas from his Rocbox setup. Amazing unit.

Myself made tacos al pastor from a Snake River Farms shoulder. Shoulder was marinated in a al pastor sauce, grilled the shoulder meat on a Big Green Egg, then removed, chopped, then crisped up on the Blackstone griddle. Coupled this with some fire roasted tomatillo sauce and fresh shells!

NOLA whipped up some crawfish that was very good and spicy! NOLA style!

JRWhitee made up some beef ribs that were a hit!

Lastly, John made some SV pots de creme that are always a crowd favorite!
