Elon Musk denies he talked to Putin about his Ukraine peace plan before he posted it. Reports said that Putin had told Musk he was “prepared to negotiate”, but only if Crimea remained Russian;Musk then allegedly repeated the same points in his tweet. However, when asked if the report was true, Musk denied the allegation.
