Ok back to the story...
I woke up this morning not feeling like making a video.
However, I knew that people would probably like to see three brothers doing their chores. So, I grabbed my camera and coffee and went outside. It was in the high 60's that morning and cloudy. First things first, I have to go feed the chickens, pig, and ducks.
We feed our chickens, pig, and ducks sunflower seeds, oats, and organic chicken feed. The pig also gets a bit of grass hay and Chaffhaye later in the day.
Rufus helped out with taking care of the rabbits. Buddy fed and watered the baby chicks and ducklings. TM gave me the milking supplies. I ran down to the milk barn and locked up Jangus(our little calf). Then I ran up to the feed barn and got Honey's feed. We feed Honey sunflower seeds, oats, and chaffhay. I put all of her feed in a 2-gallon buck. I ran and got Honey and walked her down to the barn. Rufus helped me out with the camera. It's pretty tricky to video a hungry cow swiftly walking to her feed in the morning, but we managed.
I put the feed in her big black bucket. I told Buddy to let Honey in the gate. So, Buddy opened the gate and in ran Honey. She ran right into the milking stanchion like a good cow. I grabbed my milking seat and my warm wet soapy rag and sat down on the milking bucket and cleaned off her utter. Rufus grabbed the milk pot and handed it to me. I started milking. Twenty minutes later, I stood up from my milking seat and gave the full milk pot to Buddy. I unclipped little Jangus and he went straight to honey for his morning nursing. Just another beautiful morning in my life as a homeschool kid growing up in the country. I watch the cars bustle down the road in the mornings and I feel so calm and blessed for my life.~Goober
