Chinese flying car makes its debut in Dubai

The eVTOL X2 electric vehicle, made a test of 90 minutes with zero carbon dioxide emissions, the two-seater is the latest generation of the Chinese manufacturer Xpeng.

The test flight was hosted by the Dubai International Chamber, one of three Chambers operating under Dubai Chambers.

It received a special permit for the flight – which took place at Skydive Dubai, located adjacent to the Emirate’s famous Palm Jumeirah island – from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.

The eVTOL X2 flying car produces zero carbon dioxide emissions during flight, and is designed with low-altitude city capabilities in mind, reaching a maximum flight speed of 130 kilometres per hour.

The event was co-organised by Dubai International Chamber and XPeng, and supported by Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, WAM reported, adding that the X2 flying completed a 90-minute test flight.
