Plants vs Zombies 2 - Penny's Pursuit - Zomboss - Spore-shroom - October 2022

This Penny's quest focuses on the CORE plant Spore-shroom and was offered between between October 12, 2022 and October 19, 2022

Spore-shroom is a member of the Ail-Mint family.
Spore-shroom costs 150 Sun. (125 Sun at level 4.)
Spore-shroom lobs spores which does 50 damage to the nearest zombie. (+5 per level)
Zombies defeated by Spore-shroom spawn another Spore-shroom - provided the tile is empty.

Commentary:
This is an interesting concept. A plant which spawns copies of itself when a zombie perishes.

This is a nice idea for a plant. In practice though, this plant doesn't quite live up to its billing. The newly spawned Spore-shrooms tend to be placed on the right side of the lawn, where they get eaten rather quickly. You could argue that these spores are acting like a Wall-nut or a speed bump for the plants. Definitely true.

There seems to be a lack of consistency with this plant. Having run levels where the only plants are Spore-shroom and a Sun producer, I never felt quite comfortable with this plant unless I had three (3) Spores-shrooms. Even then, there would be occasions where zombies would eat their way through.

Bottom Line:
There simply are better options. Cabbage-pult costs less and at level 3, do the same damage output.

You're really paying for a stall effect. A stall effect which may not last all that long.
