JP'S Dystopic Journal: "Equal" Justice

Ep 10 The DOJ under the Biden regime seems to pursue conservatives alleged to have committed crimes with much more vigor and intensity than it does with people on the left. Hillary Clinton was accused of having classified documents in an unclassified environment and was not charged. President Trump was accused of the basically the same thing, and the left is screaming for him to be charged. Substantial evidence exists suggesting Hunter Biden has committed numerous felonies, and as yet has not been charged. (charges may be pending). In some cases, President Biden has been tied his son's alleged illegal activities and those of his various businesses. President was impeached twice on spurious charges, President Biden has yet to be impeached, much less charged with arguably more serous crimes of influence peddling, and opening the office up to blackmail by foreign entities. Everyone is entitled to equal justice under the law. Evidence so far suggests that the Democrats and their allies in the deep state pursue conservatives accused of crimes with much more vigor than they do left-wingers.
How is the concept of justice handled in George Orwell's 1984? The concept of “equal justice” meant something entirely different in Orwell's dystopic world. In the fictitious superstate of Oceania, there is a single ruling party (INGSOC) and a single legal ideology-- total loyalty to Big Brother. The only law was total obedience, enforced by an virtually omnipresent surveillance state. Any signs of independent thought, or “wrongthink” resulted in brainwashing and execution. With no competing parties or ideology, justice was brutally equal. Persons favored by the Big Brother regime were allowed to continue living, those who fell out of favor, weren't. “In Oceania there is no law. Thoughts and actions, which when detected, mean certain death are not formally forbidden, and the endless purges, arrests, tortures, imprisonments, and vaporizations are not inflicted as punishment for crimes which have actually been committed, but are merely the wiping-out of persons who might perhaps commit a crime at some time in the future.” – George Orwell, 1984
