Rain and thunder inside a car (ambient sounds)

I was standing outside and could smell the moisture in the air. Saw the clouds starting to form. Rain was definitely coming. I was on my way somewhere and made a decision to set up my gear in the car while parked. I didn’t want to record in the middle of the rain - I really wanted the build up. Waited about 20 minutes and the rain came in spurts. Then all at once.

I liked this library for the rain but more than that, I enjoyed the slow moving escalation to a middle area of constant deluge. The last couple of tracks show the loudest rain mixed with thunder and what feels like hail (no hail though).

The car was really plush so no annoying noises from the rain hitting the roof. I sat still and really listened. THEN, the sun came out and temperature went from 88 degrees F at the start to 72 degrees F.
