1) In August, I spent eight hours scanning all of the documents in the archives of the Green Bay Diocese and those held by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. I also visited sites from Adele's life, including the church where Adele brought her children for their sacraments. I could speak to the historicity of the apparitions and some of the more interesting documents in the archives. I also spoke with the former archivist and a shrine volunteer whose grandpa survived the Peshtigo Fire when his parents fled to the chapel.
2) My family stayed at the bunkhouse built by Fr. Andrew Kurz, who is the founder of The Wisconsin Way. The stay is free for ALL pilgrims. We did not complete the 21-mile pilgrimage, but I could speak about Fr. Andrews mission and all of the wonderful stops on his "Wisconsin Camino".
3) I wrote a two-part series based on the similarities between the apparitions at Lourdes and Champion. They will most likely be posted on TAN Direction, unless the Register or Crisis Mag wants them. A few months ago, the relics of Saint Bernadette visited the shrine for two days, and the similarities between the two visionaries were highlighted. I could speak on these similarities, but more specifically about penance in Our Lady's messages and the acts of penance performed by Adele and Bernadette.
