Jerry Garcia and David Grisman [4K REMASTER] December 7, 1991 - The Warfield - San Francisco, CA

Final time I will post this -- decided it was good enough to push it to 2160p (4K) resolution at 60 frames per second.

This video was recorded by Justin Kreutzmann
Thanks for letting us use it and put it under the knife, I really love the way this came out -- I hope everyone else does as well.

This video started as 720x480 (interlaced) --- Deinterlaced to 480p60 and converted to 1:1 pixel aspect ratio (LCD screens are not designed for interlaced video or NTSC sized pixels, so this conversion really helps with the 480p quality. interlaced video is 60 fields per second, so when you properly comptuer for motion vectors, you can write a script to get a "perfect" 60 frames per second progressive (59.94)

Josh and I ran this through a whole gamut of editing processes and I decided over the last week that with the overall quality over the video, scaling to 4k relatively accurately would be possible, and I think it really worked out great. 4k has far more advantage on a platform like youtube on any screen size, just for the bitrate increase.

We used a matrix (lineage below) to re-track this video

==================== Donor Rap ====================
This page 100% depends on the generosity of others to continue the work that is being done here to restore and remaster all existing video sources (we even do new transfers on a lot of stuff and uncirculated stuff these days). The postproduction work takes a lot of time, a lot of specialized equipment and software, eats up a ton of money in overhead, continuously increasing storage demands, and a dedicated internet connection to function (we're hoping to be able to obtain a 5 gigabit fiber optic line by end of year to be able to fully self-host all of the original uncompressed content with lossless audio tracks)

For full disclosure, if you see a commercial on this page, please do realize this page is NOT monetized in any way by us. Any commercial you see is either placed there by copyright owners (which they have every right to do) or by Youtube. We don't want people to have to see commercials any more than they want to see them. On the other hand, we are lucky enough be able to post all of these videos without being crushed off of Youtube from copyright violations. (Which also took a lot of effort to make happen)

With that said, this page would have ceased to exist in December 2020 if it were not for the massive outpouring of people who stepped up and offered to help when i put up the notice that I would no longer be able to maintain this page because of the time and the financial burden it was putting on my life. If you are able, we ask that you consider making a one-time donation or joining the patreon if you find this page to be something of value -- every dollar genuinely helps a ton. We do not want anyone to feel any sense of obligation at all to do this. We are just like everyone else and want to keep the music alive, and at the highest quality possible.
~Thank you~

====================Video Source used to construct this remaster ====================

Below is all that came with it for audio/video lineage. I believe Justin K. probably filmed this. Snippets from it are used in the Grateful Dawg video. I assume the audio to be SBD or really good sounding from the camera. I also did an audio version with a small amount of the audience source I listed way below blended in as well and that one is labeled as matrix. The video was already deinterlaced at 29.9 and nothing was needed to correct it in Davinci, so I left it completely alone.
