Who is the most cruel Russian ruler? The bloodiest monarchs of Russia. So-called liberal-progressive, and even more so Soviet historians loved to focus their attention on the topic of mass repression to which Russian monarchs subjected their unhappy people. The last Tsar Nicholas II received the epithet Bloody even in his lifetime. A popular topic in literature is how Peter the Great, whom many called Peter the Antichrist, killed countless people in wars and on the great construction sites of the empire. Nicholas the First, nicknamed him Palkin, liberal and Soviet historiography also disliked him for his cruelty. At the same time, many monarchs remained in good memory for posterity, recorded in their positive nicknames. Soviet historians, too, did not destroy the myth created around them during their lifetime. Feodor the Pious, Alexei the Silent, Catherine the Great, Alexander the Blessed, Alexander the Liberator... It seems that all the points have been made and nothing more is needed. But the public is concerned, of course, the question: which of the tsars still a record holder for executions? And our viewers will decide who of the Russian monarchs is more worthy of this dishonorable title.
