Dare To Strike Me Now!!

Chained by force to my bed,
another crash felt to my head.
I know wrath of the whip.
Blood stings now my lip;
drips with proof of your strong hand.

Wrists bound tight, colored pale,
Body torn with a sharpened nail.
Fast was stomp of boot's heel--
bruises part of deal.
Others quip, "Poor girl's just damned".

You boast another lie,
laugh at my not accepting why.
Go ahead - whack both legs,
mercy I'll not beg--
Straighten body and stand tall.

My hide's now tough as nails,
too often cried, "Enough, enough".
Rear back and bring it on.
Hear my staunch fight song.

Domestic violence is widespread, and we must stand strong, and do everything we are able to do to end it! Women and men must not be victims to this horrific scourge that causes grief and suffering!
Have the strength to stand tall and end abuse!!! A bully is never welcome!
May we honor those who have been injured or lost life as a result of domestic violence!
“You are not the darkness you endured. You are the light that refused to surrender.” ― John Mark Green
Post Note: I am not a victim of domestic violence but my heart cries tears for those who are or have been!
