Signs You’re Burnt Out, Not Lazy

When we feel like we can't do anything, it's easy to label ourselves as lazy. But sometimes, what we're experiencing is actually burnout. So how can you tell the difference? Laziness is typically characterized by a lack of motivation. We don't want to do anything because it all feels too hard. Burnout, on the other hand, is fueled by over-motivation. We're driven to keep going, even when we know we should stop. Laziness is about not wanting to do anything. Burnout is about still wanting to do everything, even when you know you can't. If you're feeling lazy, it's OK to take a break. In fact, it's probably necessary. But if you're feeling burned out, you need to take a different kind of break. One that involves reevaluating your goals and priorities. Only you can decide what kind of break you need. But if you're not sure, ask yourself this: Am I doing this because I want to or because I feel like I have to? If it's the latter, then it might be time to reconsider your situation.
