Washed Away Documentary - Coming Soon

Washed Away charts the response of the Northern Rivers community as it faced one of the worst flooding events in Australian history.

In March 2022, a ‘monster’ flood inundated the area with more than 14 metres of water, submerging thousands of homes, two metres higher than a supposed “1-in-100-year” flooding event. Scores of people were trapped in their homes, cut off from assistance and left to fend for themselves.

Washed Away reveals a community on its knees that triumphed over tragedy celebrating the heroes and paying tribute to those who lost their lives.

On the ground with first responders hamstrung by red tape and a lack of resources and the locals who stepped in to bravely assist, this documentary will inspire the viewer through the resilience of the human spirit while encouraging a proactive approach to crisis management in areas prone to flooding.
