Trials of the Century: The Trial of Lizzie Borden

The axe murders that shook Fall River, Massachusetts in the summer of 1892, the trial in the New Bedford Courthouse in 1893, and the infamous children's rhyme that stemmed therefrom:

"Lizzie Borden took an ax
And gave her mother forty whacks,
And when she saw what she had done,
She gave her father forty-one."
