From the alert to the pandemic
On December 31, 2019, the Municipal Health Commission of Wuhan (China) reported to the World Health Organization a cluster of cases of pneumonia of unknown etiology in the city of Wuhan, in the Chinese province of Hubei. On January 9, 2020, the Chinese CDC reported that a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been identified as the causative agent of the respiratory disease later referred to as Covid-19.
