Prime Minister Justin Trudeau outlines a series of new measures targeting Iran, including banning more than 10,000 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) leadership from ever entering Canada. The federal government is also investing $76 million to strengthen Canada's overall capacity to enforce sanctions. He is joined at the news conference on Parliament Hill by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland. The prime minister also faces questions on the ongoing Hockey Canada controversy and on the results of the United Conservative Party of Alberta's leadership race. Danielle Smith was named as the new UCP leader and premier-designate to succeed Jason Kenney.
