Ben Shapiro's "Socialism is Theft" Ignores WWII, N.A.T.O., Corporate Privilege

I provide commentary over Ben Shapiro's August 2018 lecture "Socialism is Theft", debunking his attempt to debunk the idea that socialism is good.

I contend that Shapiro's pessimism about socialism fails to consider several factors:

1) the extent to which socialist-leaning European countries' economic problems could be attributed to the devastating effects of WWII;

2) the possibility that U.S. military assistance, through NATO, helps keep European welfare states sustainable, rather than either capitalism or homogeneity; and

3) the rigging of the markets with subsidies, and the threat of violence for not opening markets to American goods, in order to prop-up the prices of American exports.
