WWII Army Air Corps Veteran Hiram Hern

At 17, he left his High School graduation ceremony and got directly on the bus for boot camp. He eventually found himself in charge of keeping 7 B-24 heavy bombers in the air. The average age of the bomber crews was only 21 and they depended on Hiram to keep their planes safe. This is his story of being responsible for the safety of crews barely older than him flying bombers in WWII.
