Russian Armed Forces regrouping in Kherson Region
Chronicle of Battles on October 4, 2022

🔻After the advance of AFU on Kryvyi Rih section of the front and the collapse of the Russian Armed Forces' right flank defence, the Russian General Staff decided to regroup in the north-east of Kherson Region.

▪️Along the Dnipro, Ukrainian formations managed to reach Dudchany. On the previous day, Russian Armed Forces units had blown up the bridge over the reservoir and retreated to the western half of the settlement. The natural watershed would not have been a serious obstacle for the Ukrainian formations. The Russian forces would have succeeded at best only in slowing down the enemy's advance.

In case of delay, AFU could have cut off the "spur" in Kryvyi Rih area with counter-strikes from Bilohirka and Dudchany in a short time. The Russian forces would have been trapped in a cauldron.

▪️Russian units therefore withdrew from Davydiv Brid, Velyka and Mala Oleksandrivka, Ol'hyne, Vysokopillya and all the settlements to the south in order to organise a new line of defence.

Russian Armed Forces' defensive lines now run along Kostromka - Bruskyns'ke - Borozens'ke - Mylove line.

🔻Given the low density of defending units, withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces to the reserve line of defenсe is the only way out of the current situation. This made it possible to save numerous lives and equipment.

Ukrainian formations will continue to push through the Russian Armed Forces' defensive lines. AFU's closest targets are Beryslav and Nova Kakhovka. A new phase of the battle for Kherson begins.
