School board votes 4-1 against Sexuality & Gender Resolution

Parents and community members presented and supported a resolution concerning sexuality and gender content in the schools. This resolution would have made it a requirement to alert parents before sexuality and gender content was instructed, discussed or promoted to students. It would have given the parents an opportunity to opt their children out with an alternative course of education provided.

What was deceiving?

1. Content alerts are not required by teachers.
2. The posted online curriculum does not contain sexuality and gender notifications for English language arts or any location other than Health.
3. Based on their guidelines, pronouns should not be asked in the classrooms.
4. They are not use realizing law, they are utilizing guidelines that are not mandated or required. These guidelines say nothing about instructing and discussing sexuality and gender in the classroom with students.
