You have come to the right place if your baby is overstimulated and won't stop crying and nothing seems to help. This age-old trick parents use to soothe a crying baby is to run their vacuum cleaner. After a few minutes at a safe volume, your little one can calm down and even fall asleep, allowing both of you the rest you deserve. This audio was recorded and composted with the purpose of imitating the sounds your baby heard in the womb. With it, you are providing a comfortable atmosphere by blocking out distracting noises. This helps your fussy baby settle down fast.

While playing white noise for overstimulated babies, it is very important to pay attention to the volume because any smartphone, computer, or white noise machine can put out decibel levels that are too loud for your child. It is recommended to play the sound a few feet from where your child is sleeping, it does not need to be right near their head, and to keep the volume no louder than that of a normal conversation.

To ensure that your volume level is appropriate, we recommend that parents download an app to turn their smartphone into a sound level meter. One good option is the sound level meter app created by the U.S. National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) available on the app store as the NIOSH SLM app.

Colic is a very common occurrence with newborn infants and is defined by Mayo Clinic as, “In general, colic is defined as crying for three or more hours a day, three or more days a week, for three or more weeks. Features of colic may include the following: Intense crying that may seem more like screaming or an expression of pain.”

DISCLAIMER: These sounds are engineered to help you relax and focus but you should not drive or operate heavy machinery while listening to this calming white noise sound. Please ensure that your volume is at a comfortable level because even listening to soothing white noise at a high volume can potentially damage your hearing. A good test is to see if you can have a conversation over the volume of the video without raising your voice. If you must raise your voice, then the audio is too loud. If you are using this black screen rain white noise to calm your baby, please do not place speakers right next to a baby’s ears.

We provide these natural calming sounds for entertainment purposes only and they are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Please consult your physician if you experience complications or difficulty with sleep or hearing.
