Vladimir Putin hosts a signing ceremony for the annexation of four areas of Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin has formally recognised four Ukrainian territories as Russian following internationally-condemned referenda.

Many world leaders have said they will never accept the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia as part of Russia.
