Hillary feared poisoning!
Hillary feared poisoning!
By Terry A. Hurlbut
Hillary Rodham Clinton seems to have fallen for one of her own swindles – or at least her campaign team did. Recall that in 2016 the Hillary campaign insisted that Donald J. Trump was a Russian asset. It’s one thing to play a confidence trick on someone (or a whole country), but quite another to believe in your own “con.” Now a new book – a leftist book – claims the Hillary campaign actually thought the Russians would use Trump to poison their candidate.
The Hillary campaign and the Russia Hoax
Anyone who remembers the Election of 2016 will likely take one of two positions. They’ll either believe Trump was and is a Russian asset, or they’ll remember Hillary trying to make people believe it. Such was the focus of Operation Crossfire Hurricane – which now lies at the center of the Trump Raid controversy.
This much is fact: Vladimir Putin very much feared a Hillary Presidency. He believed that a President Hillary would attack Russia directly. So much did he believe it that he actually issued a ukase telling his people to arm themselves. (Ukase is broken Russian for “decree.” Memo to dictator watchers: dictators never order their people to arm themselves. A dictator who does that, plays with a fire that will surely burn him.)
The fiction is that Vladimir Putin went so far as to interfere materially in the Election of 2016. Every leftist jumped on the bandwagon. That included legacy media organs, including the unabashedly leftist Guardian and The New York Times. Those two papers accused the Russians of hacking the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary campaign.
CNAV is prepared to assert that every word in those two reports is a lie. Russia did not interfere in the Election of 2016. Frankly, Russia did not have to. If Barack Obama hadn’t convinced the better half of the country that it must not allow an Obama Third Term, Hillary herself did.
They believed their own con
None of that stopped the Hillary campaign from creating the “Russia Hoax” and trying to sway the confidence of the American people with it. We all know that failed. We also remember news anchors at CNN and other organs positively blubbing over the election returns. But now we have a “sneak preview” of a new book that manages to embarrass the cause with which the author sympathizes.
The book is Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America, by Maggie Haberman of The New York Times. Breitbart obtained an exclusive pre-publication excerpt and reported on it two days ago.
The excerpt is nothing short of incredible. Does Maggie Haberman seriously consider it acceptable to perpetrate a hoax on the American people? She gives all the details, including about how the Hillary campaign cozied up to the FBI. And also cozied up to The New York Times, and shopped all sorts of wild stories to them.
One of those wild stories was that the Russians would use Donald Trump to poison Hillary Clinton with a handshake. Ms. Haberman insists Hillary never took that story seriously. Or did she? Watch what she does – and does not do – in this video clip from her third debate with Trump:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5gUIvWLwT8
See that? She won’t shake his hand.
Excerpts from this Hillary puff book
Haberman writes:
Democrats found themselves almost perpetually disoriented by autumn. During preparations for the third debate, Clinton’s team was disrupted by a warning from the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein, who said he had been told that Russians might try to poison Clinton through a handshake with Trump, to inflict a dramatic health episode during the debate.
Richard C. Blum, husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who died in February 2022 of cancer, was an investor. Those investments included Mainland Chinese companies and American U.S. government contractors. As such they created conflicts of interest for the Senator in the votes she cast, according to LiquiSearch. So if he actually came to the Hillary campaign with a tale like that, they might believe him.
In any event, Ron Klain (now Joe Biden’s chief of staff) wondered how Trump could poison Hillary with a handshake and not poison himself. So he passed it on to Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri. Haberman takes it up further:
Her communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, took the prospect seriously enough to check it out. The warning turned out to be mere speculation from a historian with no knowledge of Russian plans.
Was such a plan technically feasible?
The only reason anyone would believe such a story is that poisoning by chance meeting is technically feasible. In fact, the old Soviet Komitet Gosudarstvennoi Bezopasnosti (KGB, Committee for State Security) did it a few times. In 1978, the KGB’s First Chief Directorate allegedly killed BBC Journalist Georgi Markov with an umbrella with a needle nose. They had tipped the nose with ricin, which many consider deadlier than cyanide. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, on September 21, 2021, accused Vladimir Putin of commissioning several political murders. That same accusation also remembers several poisonings by the KGB. Ian Fleming asserted that the KGB has always had a “wet operations” unit dedicated to such murders, among other activities. They’ve called it SMERSH (Smiert Shpionam, Death to Spies), Department 13, and Department Viktor.
But leftists had a problem. Before they managed to subsume the Western intelligence, banking, and media establishments, they openly espoused the Soviet Union. Today Russia follows a leader who, though he was a KGB officer in his younger days, now repudiates Communism. (And tells his people to arm themselves.) While the West has embraced something like Communism, with billionaires replacing Communist Party Central Committee members.
Imagine a combined FBI and CIA
Furthermore, the CIA and the FBI, if they were to merge, would be an American Committee for State Security. To understand what that would mean, first consider the three Chief Directorates that made up the KGB:
• First: foreign intelligence,
• Second: counterintelligence and security against foreign actors, and
• Third: security against internal dissent.
The FBI has already, in many of its activities, replaced the Second and Third Chief Directorates. The CIA, in turn, replaces the First.
Add to it Operation Mockingbird, which began in 1948, according to Spartacus Educational (in the United Kingdom). It grew out of the Office of Special Projects, which became the counterintelligence arm of the CIA. Today, liberals like to associate Mockingbird with “conservative” administrations shortly after World War Two and during the Cold War. What they don’t tell you is that they subsumed Mockingbird. Or rather: the same elites that formed the World Economic Forum, now control Mockingbird and all its assets. As the Spartacus article makes clear, those assets include nearly every legacy media organ in America.
Now imagine those two organizations merging in name as well as in fact. Imagine how cruel such an organization would be, at least as cruel as was the KGB.
Maggie Haberman’s motives
And what about Maggie Haberman? She is a partisan hack. Witness her piece in The Atlantic, last Sunday, excoriating Trump. (Not to mention the title of her book!) But notice this delicious irony. She writes in The Atlantic:
The former president tried to sell his preferred version of himself, but said much more than he intended.
Well, Maggie Haberman, in her latest book, must be trying to sell her preferred version of the Democratic Party and everything it stands for. But she has revealed more than Hillary would have let her, had she any kind of pre-screening authority. That includes Hillary’s lawyers paying Christopher Steele for that lying, libelous dossier. Remember: that’s the one The New York Times ran with, thereby permanently sullying its reputation.
So if you read that Maggie Haberman has suddenly killed herself, don’t believe it. If you do, I have a partnership stake in a bridge spanning the Potomac River that I would like to offer for sale.
