In asymmetric DC motors, there is two commutators. Independent coils are switched on then off, without reversing direction of current . When direction of induced voltage inside the coil is reversed, magnetic field is reversed too. This effect can be used to create additional motoring force, To get this effect, coil must be disconnected from power source.
