Hurricane Ian Regains Strength, Heads for Carolinas after Hitting Florida

30.09.22 After ravaging Florida, a strengthened Hurricane Ian is set to enter South and North Carolina where National Guard troops have been deployed in anticipation. 

The National Hurricane Center’s update forecast a “life-threatening storm surge” including a storm surge of up to 7 feet (2.1m) into coastal areas of the Carolinas, and rainfall of up to 8 inches (20cm).

In Florida, the calamity caused massive damage to buildings, vehicles and even swept local civilian boats ashore. At least 19 people are reported to have died due to Ian's rampage through the Caribbean and the US. (RT)
