How to Add Texture to Polished Climbing Holds w/ Grip Tape

Attempting to add texture to climbing holds that have become quite polished and slippery. I am reusing a tactic I have used in the past on plywood, which is to add skateboard grip tape.

As far as review afterward: my results were kind of MEH.

The black grip tape had the better texture (not too abrasive) but for some reason the adhesive was not as good and the grippy part peeled away from a plastic layer when a climbing shoe would slip off. This could totally be due to the brand or even the "model" that I purchased.

The clear grip tape was much better for the adhesive and also not peeling away with footholds. The texture was quite a bit more abrasive though, so it takes some time to wear down to the more accurate texture.

I will leave some Amazon Affiliate links below for the brands I used. If you click one of the links, Amazon does share a small commission with me, so thank you for your support of the channel ;)
