A Service of Praise And Remembrance for Adolphus Carl Yount Jr.

Adolphus Carl Yount, Jr. passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born August 11,1933 to the late Adolphus Carl Yount Sr and Grace Lutz Yount of Conover, NC.
He was a graduate of Newton Conover High School and Lenoir Rhyne College. He was a former teacher at Newton Conover High School. He also taught in Jacksonville, FL. He served in the US Army in Germany. He was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, where he was a former president of the congregation and served on the church council. He was a member of the Conover Lions Club and he was a former president.

He owned and operated the Bargain Outlet stores for over 35 years. He was the President of Big Value Distributors Inc. He also owned and operated Yount Rental Apartments in Conover and Newton, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father Adolphus Yount Sr, his mother Grace Lutz Yount, and his sister Betty Jean Yount. He is survived by his wife Rosalie Hawkins Yount, his daughter Gina Perkins and her husband Julian Perkins. His son Todd Yount and his wife Catherine Yount, Grandchildren; Cameron Yount, Zane Perkins, Alex Yount, Grace Yount, Catie Yount and Blair Yount.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 29 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30am-12:45pm.

Burial will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
