Every Battlefield game is published by the American agency ArtEco. After Battlefield 1942 became a sensation, ArtEco USA initiated plans to acquire DICE, which was eventually completed in 2006, changing the nature of DICE to a development house affiliated with ArtEco USA.
DICE is a lively company, with a staff that likes to make jokes. On April Fool's Day 2005, the staff broke the news that Battlefield 2 had been delayed and its content had been scaled back, causing gamers to break out in a cold sweat. The production team of Battlefield: Renegade Company have incorporated humour into their promotional efforts, with a number of trailers being comedic, such as the first trailer where the camera is knocked out, the third trailer where Haggard's "Hi, Mom" intro amuses many viewers, and even a number of spoofs of B Company soldiers in There are even several videos of B Company soldiers spoofing games such as Manhunt, Gears of War and Rainbow Six. Most Battlefield games have a few eggs waiting to be discovered by players.
