Justina, A Star and You (Demo)

This is a short clip from a project I’m working on, a sort of “life in several minutes” video of my Wife, Justina. I directed and filmed this scene across a couple Saturdays in August 2021. Any scene that has me in it was shot by my brother Jeremy. The location was in Roeding Park in Fresno, CA.

My camera is a BlackMagicDesign Pocket Cinema 6K Pro, on a Ronin RS 2 gimbal. Shot in BRAW format at 48fps reduced to 24fps, using a Canon EF 18-135mm lens. Editing is done in BMD’s Davinci Resolve Studio 17, though I only raised the saturation a bit, I still need to learn proper color grading of raw footage.

This scene essentially represents our marriage, and will be preceded by clips of Justina as a child (video shots looking at her photo albums).

The scene will be followed by clips I’ve been taking of our adventures so far in our 11 years together, as well as videos that I will continue taking and editing into the project, well into the future.

The music will be “Étoile et Toi [edition le blanc]”, French for “A Star and You (White Version)”. The lyrics during this portion of the piece are found at the 0:55 second mark:
