Thousands of protesters marched on the streets of Tokyo on Tuesday, carrying placards and shouting slogans against the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who was shot and killed in July.

"The former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, indulged in criminality and abused his political power. To hold a state funeral for such a person is an outrageous mistake," 74-year-old protester, Eteru Takahashi, said.
