Cost of Good Decisions – Being Dad with Phil Lower, September 27, 2022

I love how in John Wick 3 they talk about there being consequences to choices we make.

Yesterday we had to make an all-day long road trip. It took longer than anyone thought. One of the kids had a bad attitude and was making bad choices for much of the morning.

Over breakfast I ran through how one choice after another would lead to different consequences and what they couldn’t see could be coming. It scared them but they understood and the rest of the day went great.

Then, when they didn’t do something they were supposed to, and I reminded them, they immediately apologized. Hopefully the lesson is learned.

When we trade with other people, we trade:
Love = Cost of Spending Self-Esteem = Positive Emotional Energy
Freedom = Cost of Spending Decision-Making Power
Time = Cost of Investing in Intellect = Information

We may spend time to grow or kid’s Intellect and Understanding but gain Love.

You trade Freedom for a job and paycheck. You also trade Time.

Constructive trades come from constructive decisions and being Strong.

Ronald Reagan made a commitment to pursue a policy of “peace through strength”. The more constructive your choices are, the healthier you will be.
