Believers Should Have No Partiality pt 1

We are starting chapter 2 in our journey in the book of James. James provides instruction that we show no partiality when we are dealing with people. It does not matter if you are rich or poor, God shows no partiality and if we follow God, then we should also show no partiality. James creates the argument that if we do show it, then we have become judges with evil hearts and evil intentions. God loves everyone who loves Him (Proverbs 18:23) tells us this. God has a special place for each of His children. It does not matter if you are rich or poor, what matters is this…are you following Jesus Christ? The point James is making: Don’t treat people differently because of their social status or what they can provide to you. If you treat everyone equal as God does, then you are truly walking in the light of the savior. You are representing the Triune God with respect, honor and reverence just as He deserves.
