- The seahorse is a genus of small sea ray fish in the needlefish family of the Needlefish order. The genus includes from 54 to 57 species. The unusual shape of the seahorse body resembles a chess piece.

Quite an interesting fact: these creatures are peculiar to mimicry. Changing the color of their bodies, they pursue two goals at once - to hide from predators and from their potential prey.

They are strictly confined to warm water, because they quickly die in cold water.
