Chinese Mid Autumn Gala in Leuven, organised by the Confucius Institute at the KUL Leuven U

Frans Vandenbosch: I attended the Chinese Mid Autumn Gala in Leuven, organised by the Confucius Institute at the KUL Leuven university. 方腾波: 我參加了魯汶大學孔子學院在魯汶舉辦的中國中秋晚會
 
Remarkable: The Chinese ambassador came with his wife in a 中国一汽 (China FAW)  红旗 (red flag) car. with his wife, no security, very informal.
He was all the time wearing a mask, except during his speech.

We got a dinner and a gala evening, everything sponsored by the Confucius Institute.
During the gala evening, there were some two dozen performances of Chinese dance, singing, tai chi, classical western and Chinese music.
 
The strong drive and the self-confidence of the Chinese students is amazing. They clearly belong to a community, a country, which is ready to change the world.
Some of the Chinese students were performing Western classical music. These young people belong in a top league, where I haven’t seen any professional western artist performing at that level.
 
Li laoshi, my private Chinese teacher (she’s a beauty, isn’t she ?) and Li Wei, the director of the Confucius Institute (he can perfectly speak Dutch)
