Judges 6-7 “In God’s Strength”

The people sinned once again…and although it doesn’t say those words exactly in this verse…they are implied.
Israel had sinned yet once again…they had peace in the land for the past 40 years…
But they once again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord…which tells us that there is nothing we do that escapes the sight of the Lord.
And as we have discussed…this has become a cycle for them…a cycle of sin, cry out to God, get help, repeat.
Israel was caught up in the habitual sin of idol worship…which comes down to (as all sin does) disobedience and rebellion against the Word of God…
And for some…like the nation of Israel…they may also be struggling with habitual sin.
They sin, ask for forgiveness, and sin again…sin has become a cycle in their lives.
So, what happens to a believer, a follower of Jesus when we sin?
When you look at 1 John 1:9…it is written in the Greek continual tense…
Meaning that when we sin, we are to continually go to God, continually confess our sin, and He will continually forgive and cleanse us of our sin.
