On 17 October 1973, Ohio Governor John Gilligan claimed to have seen a UFO while driving near Ann Arbor, Michigan. During a press conference he stated: "I saw one (UFO) the other night, so help me. I'm absolutely serious. I saw this."

The CBS News report continues with an on camera interview with Gulfport Mississippi Patrolman David Tomasovsky reporting on his sighting of something large and round and moving low over the city. Tomasovsky's report was corroborated by Sgt David Waller.

Cab driver John Lane reports on an alien with a claw-like hand.

Mrs Irma Flynt and Mrs Phyllis Flynt of Pascagoula detail their sightings.

Cronkite ends the report with an unrelated story of two Beavercreek Ohio men apprehended by police walking down the street dressed in aluminium foil and coat hanger antenna. This serves to soften and reduce fear.
