“Sleep Walking During Covid”
9th in our series the Prophet Zephaniah
I. The Great Day of the Lord - Zephaniah 1:14-17a
* A. God Wrath is poured out with intensity
* 1. Those that rebel against the Lord will be in great distress
* a. All sin is ultimately against the Lord - Ps. 51:4
* b. Sin is treason against the Sovereign ruler of the Universe; the wages of sin is death
* 2. As a result they will walk as if they were blind
* a. There is a spiritual blindness that cannot see salvation - John 9:39-41
* b. There is prophetic blindness that cannot see the fulfillment of prophecy - Revelation 1:11
* B. Satan’s plan is revealed in God’s Word - to build a One World, government, religion and economy - Revelation 13:15-17
* 1. This plan will be implemented for a short season, 7 years of Tribulation
* 2. The faithful disciples of Jesus will not take the Mark of the beast - Revelation 16:2
* a. Satan will war against them - Revelation 13:7
* b. But victory is assured - Revelation 19:11, 19-21

II. Death and Destruction - Zephaniah 1:17b-18
* A. Gruesome image of death in battle
* 1. Blood profusely spilled as dust
* 2. This fulfills the warnings God gave Israel 
* B. Money will be useless as defense against the wrath of God
* C. The One True God is a jealous God
* 1. Jealousy is an appropriate response when a covenant relationship is threatened by rivalry 
* 2. The One True God is deserving of the worship of every creature He has created  - Exodus 20:5
