Frost Engine 2

At the Siggraph 2009 World Game Graphics Technology Summit DICE revealed the development plan of Frostbite 2 (Frostbite 2). Frostbite Engine 2 introduces the DirectX 11 specification based on the inheritance of the full map and full object destruction feature which is backward compatible with DirectX 10 but does not support PC computers that can only use DirectX 9. Although the frost engine 2 inherited the characteristics of the previous generation of engines but due to all the procedures re-written operating efficiency is much higher than the previous generation of engines. Battlefield 3 is the first game to use the Frost Engine 2.
