Several Liberal MP's from PM Justin Trudeau to Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland to MP Terry Beech lied on record in the House of Commons. They falsely claim that EP and CPP are not taxes, saying that raising EI and CPP rates are not tax increases. Yet, by the government's own definition and that of Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, CPP and EI are taxes.
I can't believe we have to talk about the definition of a tax in 2022.
Definition
Tax: A compulsory financial contribution imposed by law to raise government revenue.
CPP is a tax.
EI is a tax.
