Every person in the world should be free from hunger and even the threat of it. And any state that provokes hunger, tries to make the protection of peoples from hunger dependent on the smile of fortune or the mercy of some dictator, must receive the harshest reaction from the world.

He emphasized this during the high-level meeting on food security, which is taking place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Russia wants to make protection from hunger not a right, but a privilege, food – not an inalienable right, but something that needs to be begged. We categorically do not accept this. We consistently fight against it. And we urge you to stand in solidarity with us in bringing Russia to justice. To stand in solidarity with us in guaranteeing the right of every person and every country to be protected from hunger - the right to food.
