Charming fireworm on your screens

Refers to a species of polychaete worms in the family Amphinomidae.

A small (usually 7-10 cm long, although some specimens reach 35 cm), brightly colored worm. Parapodia are red with white bristles. The bristles are hollow, filled with poison, if touched, they easily penetrate into flesh and break off.

Occurs in reef areas. Occurs throughout the tropical West Atlantic.
