Hey friends! In this video, This Old meat grinder is Back to Looking Like New Again!
Restoring a rusty meat grinder can be a fun project for me. It can also be a skill that is learned over time. The goal is to restore the meat grinder so that it can Turn an old rusty meat grinder into a beautiful piece of kitchen art. Before starting the restoration process, it is important to determine the cause of the rust. If it is due to water damage, then the restoration will be more complicated. If the rust is due to corrosion, then the restoration will be simpler. Once the cause of the rust is known, steps can be taken to prevent it from happening again. This includes keeping the meat grinder clean and repainting and using a rust inhibitor on the metal.
I found this meat grinder at an antique shop. There definitely was a bunch of rust and dirt. After a good wash of every part, I restored every part step by step: I started with electrolysis of the main body, The most challenging part of this restoration was trying to get all the rust out of the inside of the meat grinder, but with a little time I managed to clean it out. doing some metal works like filing and sanding, after that, I put on somebody's filler and primer, After that, I went for the other parts. While filing, sanding, and painting them, So I cleaned and repainted them with orange paint. Some smaller parts were hot-blued, and the inside got just censoring. The last step was making a new stud. I found a 3mm screw in my shop and modified it to fit on my new meat grinder. The new blade at the end was bought, too much effort to make a new one.
When the restoration was completed, the meat grinder looked new. All parts inside and outside were all in great condition and the paint job was very well done. The only issue that I noticed was that the blade was not sharpened, but this was easily fixed. Overall, the restoration was a great success and the Rustic meat grinder now is Back to Looking Like New Again!
